To obtain a work permit during the asylum procedure or with toleration, you must write an application. You can write a letter yourself or use our template. Our templates for the application and the reminder for the application make it easier for you to write the letter.

Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren,

Hiermit beantrage ich die Erteilung einer Arbeitserlaubnis entsprechend §61 Abs. 2 AsylG und §32 BeschV für das Arbeitsverhältnis anbei.

Ich habe vor mehr als 3 Monaten einen Asylantrag gestellt. Außerdem komme ich nicht aus einem sicheren Herkunftsstaat gemäß §29a AsylG.

Diesem Schreiben sind die Erklärung zum Beschäftigungsverhältnis und der Entwurf des Arbeitsvertrages beigefügt.

Bitte teilen Sie mir schriftlich mit, sofern Ihnen Informationen fehlen sollten oder mögliche Gründe, die aus Ihrer Sicht  gegen meinen Antrag sprechen sollten. Ich bitte Sie höflich um eine Rückmeldung innerhalb der nächsten 14 Tage. Der Grund hierfür ist, dass mein Arbeitgeber aus betrieblichen Gründen die Stelle zeitnah besetzen muss.

Dear Sir or Madam,
I hereby apply for the granting of a work permit in accordance with §61 para. 2 AsylG and §32 BeschV for the employment relationship attached. I submitted an asylum application more than 3 months ago. Furthermore, I do not come from a safe country of origin according to §29a AsylG. Attached to this letter are the declaration of employment and the draft employment contract.
Please inform me in writing if you require any further information or if there are any possible reasons that, in your opinion, should speak against my application. I kindly request a response within the next 14 days. The reason for this is that my employer needs to fill the position promptly for operational reasons.

  • The next steps: Add the missing information in the document. Then you or your company must send the following documents to the Foreigners’ Registration Office (if possible by registered mail or fax):
    1. Application for work permit (letter)
    2. Declaration of employment (signed)
